Claims from Belfast of cabbies selling alcohol to fares. That has to be bad idea, I can just see some drunk stealing the beer, hitting the cabbie in the head with the bottle and legging it. Back in 1930 Charlie Heard took two women from Geelong to Darwin and back! He was paying 12 cents a litre for fuel, following the train line in some places and using a compass in many places.
